Limerick City and County Council is progressing the development of the N/M20 Cork to Limerick Project in partnership with Cork County Council, Cork City Council, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, and the Department of Transport.  The project is a priority investment in the Government’s National Development Plan 2021-2030.

Limerick City and County Council published the N/M20 Preferred Transport Solution in March 2022, and subsequently published project updates in February and November 2023. The transport solution is not limited to consideration of a single mode of transport but is based upon a holistic, multi modal view to improving connectivity between the cities of Cork and Limerick, and ultimately Galway. Following consideration of extensive feedback from stakeholders and the public together with evolving transport policy, the project team continue to progress Phase 3 – Design and Environmental Evaluation for the N/M20 Cork to Limerick Project.

The June 2024 project update will be the third in a series of project updates that will take place during Phase 3 as the project team work to develop the design and the environmental evaluation for the project. The project update information will be available to view on the project website www.corklimerick.ie from 5pm on Monday 24th June 2024 and then in person from the N/M20 Project Office.Maps will be available to view at local authority offices in Cork, Mallow, Kilmallock and Limerick from Wednesday 26th June 2024
